A true Renaissance Man in every sense. Over the years Riley, a man in his 50s, is or was, a "Guinness World Record" holder for memorizing pi, a special guest on the "Today Show", a "Trivial Pursuit" question, a professional juggler, onstage musician, photojournalist writer, character actor, a science teacher, an Olympic Torchbearer, a "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" feature, the inventor of 'drubbling'*, and a "Boston Marathon" runner/drubbler.
Paddling season for Riley is in its midst. Every year he goes on an expedition. Starting last April of 2009 he chose to kayak from Horseshoe Lake in Oakland Co. MI to the Horseshoe Falls, Niagara, Ont. He finished 2009 at Port Austin at the tip of Michigan's Thumb. Presently on his travels he is nearing Detroit. Catch up with his Horseshoe2Horseshoe travels by visiting his photojournal at the Flint River Watershed Coalition blog.
